‘All the Moor Butterflies’ is a project led by a wildlife charity, Butterfly Conservation, and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project is working across the South West’s moorland landscapes to conserve a suite of six threatened butterfly and moth species.
Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor are now the focus areas, where the project team are working in partnership with conservation charities and landowners to carry out practical works to improve the habitat for target species such as Marsh Fritillary, Heath Fritillary and Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-Moth.
Working with a wide range of people from schools to community groups, the project is also raising awareness of these special species and creating opportunities for people to volunteer to help conserve them.
To find out more or get involved, the project manager is Megan Lowe.
