Dartmoor Business Network are delighted to have chosen Dartmoor National Park’s Donate for Dartmoor initiative as their good cause to support for 2018.
The calendar, the second since the Network started in 2015, is made possible only by the generosity of local photographers who kindly donate one of their own images of Dartmoor for inclusion and to local businesses who each sponsor a month.
Samantha Hill, Head of Communications, Economy and Fundraising at Dartmoor National Park says: “We are very grateful to the Dartmoor Business Network for supporting Donate for Dartmoor through the sale of its calendar this year. The monies raised from the sale will be put towards repairing the very popular Nuns Cross Path, to make this route more accessible.
“It costs £30-40 per linear metre to repair upland paths and when this restoration is complete the route will provide a 20km circular, high quality walking and cycling route from Princetown.
“The calendars can be bought from our Visitor Centres and will make a great Christmas present!”
The local businesses to have sponsored a month in the calendar are: Dartmoor Brewery, WBW Solicitors, Buckfast Abbey, Visit Dartmoor, Davie Brothers Ltd, Becky Falls, Dartmoor Classic, Cavanna Homes, Enchanted House Beds, Active Dartmoor magazine and Bovey Castle.
Co-owner of Visit Dartmoor and Visit Dartmoor Design with Simon Lloyd, Jenny How says:
“Visit Dartmoor has enjoyed putting together another charity calendar for Dartmoor Business Network, which we co-manage. It’s one of the most fun design projects we do each year and we look forward to doing them. We have some superb photographers all around the Dartmoor area and this year they have excelled themselves with the images they submitted for this calendar, it’s always a joy working our way through them.
“It’s always so difficult making the final decision on which to use, but we are very happy with the final selection. It’s no secret that Dartmoor is my absolute passion, as well as my home and my business, so I’m very much looking forward to using the newly repaired Nun’s Cross path!”
Dartmoor Business Network would like to thank the following local photographers for donating an image for the 2018 calendar: Richard Fox, Rachel Burch, Robert Derrington, David Gibbeson, Alan Howe, Phil Starkey, Terry Hurt, Bruce Little, Richard McKinley and Malcolm Snelgrove.
The Dartmoor Business Network is co-managed by Visit Dartmoor, Jo Butler Consulting and Claire Doyle Marketing. The Network meets bi-monthly with a breakfast meeting at the Miniature Pony Centre, North Bovey, and also hosts workshops at various venues throughout Dartmoor during the year.
