Today, Saturday 2nd December is the deadline day for the Steward Wood Community who live on their own land in the woods near Moretonhampstead.
The enforcement notice to evict the community issued by the Dartmoor National Park Authority (DPNA) now comes into action.
Daniel Thomas-Mills, one of the founders of the community said: “We have been down-sizing, a number of people have left and some others are planning to leave.”
The community was set up 17 years ago as a sustainable, environmentally sensitive way of living, using spring water, solar power and growing their own vegetables.
Many members work within the local community and the children attend the local schools.
After today the DPNA can force the rest of the community to leave the land and remove any structures that remain.
