Jennie Bond, Royal commentator, set to visit Chagford development

Jennie Bond, the well-known royal commentator and a Devon resident, is set to visit Chagford on Friday 16 March at 2.30pm as she officially opens a collection of new homes for over-55s.

The television presenter and journalist will lead the opening of Stannary Gardens from Blue Cedar Homes at a special event before touring the development with guests and local residents.

Appointed as the BBC’s royal correspondent in 1989, Jennie reported on the royal family’s public and private affairs for 14 years, covering high profile events such as the 1992 Windsor Castle fire, the divorces of the Prince of Wales and Duke of York, and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

In recent years, Jennie has raised funds for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust through her appearance on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and presented a wide range of programmes including the Chelsea Flower Show and Great British Menu.

Chris Fayers, Sales and Marketing Director, Blue Cedar Homes, commented: “We’re excited to welcome Jennie Bond to officially open Stannary Gardens and know that she will entertain our guests as they explore the development. Stannary Gardens is a unique development within Dartmoor National Park.”
