While older brother Sir Mick struts his stuff in European stadiums with the world’s greatest rock and roll band The Rolling Stones on the No Filter Tour, Chris Jagger, Mick’s younger brother and his band were playing at a seventieth birthday party for his old friend John Freeman in the front bar of the Chagford Inn on Dartmoor where John is the landlord.
John and Chris have been lifelong friends from the age of five, both from Dartford in Kent where the Freemans and the Jaggers grew up.
John went on to be a well known photographer and Chris became an actor, journalist for the Daily Telegraph and Guardian, and believe it or not Rolling Stone magazine, and a musician, helping his brother Mick on a couple of the Rolling Stones acclaimed albums ‘Steel Wheels’ and ‘Dirty Work’. Chris is touring Germany next week.
Meanwhile, the rock band Diving for Pearls raised £1,165 with their concert ‘Rock for Refugees’ at the Jubilee Hall, Chagford.
The concert was to raise money to support the Bristol Housing Network, a charity that is supporting refugees by organising holidays for families in Chagford in July.
