After almost 18 months since their last full public performance in the area due to lockdown restrictions, The Hummingbirds were finally back on stage on Saturday, 3rd July, when they were the star attraction at The MED Theatre’s 1940s Tea Party in Moretonhampstead much to the delight of a restricted in numbers, but appreciative, audience.
The Okehampton-based trio’s manager Gemma Rich, who performs under the stage name ‘Grace’, told The Moorlander, “What an amazing day we had performing at MED Theatre, although we’ve performed at a couple of shows out of the area in recent weeks it was so good to be back in front of a local audience after such a long layoff. So lovely to see Derek and Jane aka the South West Lindy Hoppers too, who thrilled the audience as they danced to a few of our numbers.”
Now that live performance restrictions are easing, their diary for the remainder of 2021 is quickly filling up. At the time of going to press the trio will be performing at the following events, check times and dates before travelling as circumstances may change.
