Chagfilm, the Chagford Film Festival, will be holding a day of Spanish language films which will be held in collaboration with Exeter University.
The Department of Hispanic Studies and Film Studies will be hosting a question and answer session about all of the films shown on the day. They will include ‘Summer 1993’ a drama which is an extraordinarily moving snapshot of being a child in an adult world, anchored by a flawless performances by its two young actors. Another film being shown at Chagfilm is Mozart in Turkey, a film of and about Mozart’s opera, the Abduction from the Seraglio.
One third documentary and two thirds filmed theatre, this fascinating experiment by filmmaker Mick Csaky and opera director Elijah Moshinsky revolves around Mozart’s first popular success. In collaboration with the Two Moors Festival the director of Mozart in Turkey Mick Csaky will be giving a talk about the making of the film.

The closing night, Saturday 28th September, will be a night of music and glamour with an Elton John tribute act playing at The Globe Inn and the return of the Flaming Flamingos, a burlesque troupe of beautiful dancers, who will be outside.
