With a 24-hour window in the weather, the sun came out and The Chagford Show got underway.
The show, the 119th to be held, was a great success with 8,000 people and what looked like a thousand dogs attending. With the previous day being wet and gloomy, the morning of the Show did start chilly with the threat of showers but by mid-morning hundreds of people arrived in their short sleeves, and there was plenty to see and do.
The Tigers Childrens Motorcycle Display Team wowed the crowds with their stunts and often dangerous displays. This was followed by the cavalcade of vintage tractors and cars, parade of the Mid Devon Foxhounds lead by Duncan Hume and the ever-popular Terrier Racing.
This year’s Chagford Show President Tich Scott looked like a new pin as he gave his President’s address.
From 8.00am to the close at 6pm there was something to entertain you all day. The following day, Friday, the heavens opened once more.
